Ahhh! Is it possible that summer vacation is over? CAN IT BE? Sadly...for me it is.

This week we are doing inservices and registration nights. I need to work in my room for a while tomorrow. Then, I have training on a new sub system on Tuesday morning (which I get to come back and train the school....AAHHHH lol.) Then, that night is registration night until 8 pm. Then we have inservice days the rest of the week and Thursday is a 12 hour work day basically.

We start back on Aug. 6th. It is a full day and a full week. It is going to be a long long long week lol. I am looking forward to getting my class list tomorrow (hopefully before registration night!)

Hey guys! Sorry that I am just now posting the winner of the giveaway! I have been very sick and I am just now feeling a little bit better. Thank you to everyone that entered. I love the set and I can't wait to use it myself. It's only $2. You can't find a deal better than that. I try to make my items affordable.

a Rafflecopter giveaway  Congrats Barb! I am sending you the packet right now! Thanks for being patient. :)

I am currently working on a packet to go for Pig in a Wig (with a cool freebie)! Hopefully I will get to that soon. However, I am trying to get things together because I am going to an in-service training on 7/31 in the morning and we have registration at night this year. BLAH! and so next week is either in-services or registration. I am hoping to have my class list in the morning!! Let's hope!

My room should be pretty much ready. However, my camera died when I was there last and so there are no pictures :( I will hopefully post them on Monday or Wed. of next week. I will post more later. There are some severe storms here now and I don't want to mess up my computer :)

Reading Street Unit 1, Week 1 Sam Come Back

Can it be? Is summer really almost over? AHHHHHHH!

Don't get me wrong...I am excited for the new year and to meet my new kiddos. However, I have really been enjoying the summer and having the time to make things that I wanted to. I have enjoyed my evenings playing board games with my son. I am definitely going to have to make more time for that this year. Last year was my first year and it took a lot of time and focus. I at least know where I am headed this year! WOOHOO! lol

I am almost done in my classroom. I have decorated in the room. I still have to organize my office and hang my wall decor. Fun fun!

I have already started working on my curriculum this year. I have already completed my BTS packet and printed it to be ready for the first week. It will help me to review Kindergarten skills and assess. I will be implementing DAILY 5 this year. Therefore, most of my new packets will be applicable to both.

I have created a packet for Sam, Come Back. There are word sorts. They all deal with the short a sound and final ck. They have short a word family sorts as well. There are many different recording sheets. I have lots of b/w to save on ink. I have included as a FREEBIE some sentences that the students are to cut apart and place in order. They will then glue it in order into their writing journal and illustrate. More advanced writers will add to the sentence. There is a listening sheet that I made. It also has a sheet for them to write their word study words to practice. This will allow for their learning to be differentiated. There are even spelling word sheets. Students may take them home and study. I have included a color version that I will laminate and put in word work to make the words using play-dough, pipe cleaners, sand, markers, etc. It is even color coded according to the sounds that they will be learning this week.
* To get the freebie: go to TPT and click download preview.

I am giving away one of these packets to a lucky winner! I hope that you will enjoy! All you have to do is be a follower of my blog. :) Easy enough!

Job titles for partners

Hey! I finally went and cleaned a little bit at school. IT NEEDED IT! lol

I have decided to post the cute little job tags that I made for the students. I received better scores on my evals when I used them.

I color coded them for the beginning of the year because they can not read the words yet. I put them into ID holders that I found at Wal-mart for $1.88.

I have also included ones for my students to wear when they make it to the top of my clip chart. I am VERY excited to use these. I hope that you enjoy them. I am giving away a set so please follow my blog. Good luck! I would love to hear what you think.

I had a question about how I made this:

I got the idea of this from Pat Pavelka.

Supplies:
- Cheap Shower Curtain
- Decorative Duct Tape (I used three of them)
- Clear pockets or sandwich baggies (I got mine from the Parent Teacher store).

Steps:
1. Lay out your shower curtain flat.
2. Tape off a grid pattern with your duct tape. I used lime green and made four columns each way.
3. Next, tape around the outside for durability. I use hot pink duct tape.
 4. Then, I stuck on clear pockets that I found at the Parent Teacher Store. They were adhesive on the back.
5. Finally, duct tape around the pocket for durability and design. I used zebra duct tape.

I will put different review cards in the pocket. My kids LOVED this last year. However, I didn't have the pockets on it then. It was just a grid pattern. I would just lay the card in each grid square. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Monday Made It

Hey guys!! I hope that y'all are enjoying a slight break in these super hot temps. I don't think I can take much more lol. I have been crafting inside at home...in the AIR CONDITIONING lol. Yes...I am a whimp. No...I am not ashamed lol.

Now... moving on to my Monday Made-It.

Number Magnets- for turning work in and CAFE

My sign

This is a shower curtain that I made into a gameboard. There are clear pockets on the front that I will use to slide different cards into for review and for games. (Vocabulary, addition, spelling words, etc)
